Can I get a brief overview of the Quality Process
being followed as a part of the Design Services offerings?
|
| |
|
Quality is the key differentiation for CG-CoreEl
and every engineer at CG-CoreEl is always conscious of the
quality of deliverables. In order to ensure high quality deliverables,
readability and tractability of the designs strict guidelines
are provided for coding, commenting and documentation.
Quality management is implemented in the form
of reviews and automated checks during various phases of development.
Deliverables generated at various stages of the flow act as
the points of visibility for the product and process.
Following is the list of approaches to ensure
quality:
|
| |
|
 |
Follow standards for engineering
practices. The sources for these standards could be standards
forums, special working groups or in-house experience.
These are documented (as guidelines and check lists) and
the team members are trained on these. |
 |
Follow defined standards for
other documents as well. |
 |
Automate engineering rule checks
as part of standards wherever possible. |
 |
Perform reviews for standards
compliance. |
 |
Perform reviews for technical
correctness at the earliest possible stages. |
| |
|
| |
|
The main metric used
for measuring quality is the results from statistical analysis
on the defect / changes logged in the collaboration server.
After baseline delivery, all changes are logged and undergo
a well-defined change life cycle as described in our Change
Management Guidelines document.
The changes are classified
as (listed in the order of severity):
|
| |
|
 |
Customer reported defect. |
 |
Test defect. |
 |
Review change. |
 |
Internal change request. |
 |
Requirements change. |
| |
|
| |
|
The number of defects in each of
the categories and their time of occurrence is indicative of
the quality achieved. |
